Jazz

Irini Res' love of music started at a young age. Born on the island of Chios, one of the many beautiful Greek islands in the Aegean sea. Irini grew up speaking and singing in Greek. As a very young girl she was soon speaking and singing in English. Her discovery of jazz (Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Astrud Gilberto, Nana Cayimi) combined with an aptitude for other languages has shaped her repertoire, which also includes songs performed in Portuguese and Spanish as well. Performing at New York City’s recognized jazz venues - Cleopatra’s Needle, La Bar Bat, Dillions, Cupping Room Café, Lola’s, and Ashford & Simpson's Sugar Bar.
